Choosing a celebrant isn't simply about having more freedom—it's about creating a ceremony that feels unmistakably yours. Any venue, from a coastal cove to a country house garden. Any content, from the readings and music to the symbolic moments that mean something to you. Any style, any length, and a rehearsal so it all feels calm on the day. A registrar follows a prescribed legal ceremony and can only conduct it at a licensed venue. I'll create a ceremony that's entirely your own, reflecting your story and the people who matter most to you.
The Legal Bit, Made Simple
In England and Wales a celebrant ceremony is not the legal marriage itself, but this is far simpler than most couples expect. Most couples pop into their local register office for a short, quiet appointment to sign the legal paperwork, often on a weekday. It costs around £50 and takes just a few minutes. That is the paperwork. Your celebrant ceremony is the real celebration, the one your guests will remember, and the one that actually tells your story.

How We'll Bring Your Ceremony to Life
It begins with a relaxed discovery call, then a thoughtfully designed questionnaire to help you reflect on your story and values. We meet to explore your ideas in depth, discussing readings, music, symbolic rituals and ways to involve the people you love. Throughout, I am available by phone, email or video, and happy to liaise with your venue and suppliers. You will review your ceremony before the day, so it feels completely true to you.
Symbolic Moments, If They Feel Right for You
Some couples want a beautifully simple ceremony with no additional rituals at all. Others love weaving in symbolic elements like handfasting, sand blending or unity candles, or family traditions, cultural customs, personal readings or involving children and pets. There is no right or wrong. My role is to help you discover what feels authentic to you, then create something genuinely meaningful, never included simply because it is expected.
